Crestline schools serve 1,208 pupils from the village and the surrounding
countryside. The small size of the school district fosters an atmosphere of
caring, concern, and personal attention. The programs are based in four
buildings within the community.
North School is a state-of-the-art
licensed child care and public preschool facility. The child care program
is open from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00
p.m.
daily serving the needs of families with children as young as three years
old. The program is actively oriented with educational experiences provided
throughout the day.
Preschool programs in
the building are for three-, four-, and five year old children. The
programs compliment the kindergarten program that is also located in the
building along with first and second grade. All the programs are
child-centered with an emphasis on developmental skills provided by
certified teachers. Services for children with disabilities are also
available.
Southeast School is a primary elementary
building serving pupils in second through fourth grades. The faculty
provide a child-oriented program in a very inviting and comfortable setting
for youngsters. The school staff stress basic skills, courtesy, and
citizenship with the students. The school is fortunate to have the support
of parents. The Parent-Teacher Organization sponsors many exciting
educational programs throughout the year.
Crestline Middle School is comprised of students in
fifth through eighth grade. The students and staff received recognition
recently from the Ohio Department of Education and Instructional Technology
Services for an outstanding computer education program. The school provides
a full compliment of educational programs and extracurricular activities to
serve students in their adolescent years.
Crestline High School offers a fully accredited
program for students in the ninth through twelfth grades. Students have the
option of attending Pioneer Joint Vocational School which is just 20 minutes from
the High School if they have an interest in one of the 27 skilled programs
offered. Other students are enrolled in a college preparatory program with
a choice of two foreign languages and other complimentary electives. One
exemplary example is the industrial technology program which has earned
state recognition for student projects over the years.
The High School has a
full array of extracurricular activities from music to athletics, from
service clubs to special events. The small enrollment of the High School
promotes a personal touch, plenty of opportunity for involvement, and
tremendous school spirit.
The Board of
Education has supported and promoted programs at all levels through the
years. The schools serve as a source of pride and accomplishment for the
community. Many graduates have gone on to make noteworthy contributions to
the nation and society.
